Siddhars have found out that there are four periods that earth would repeat itself in a cycle. They are Kritha-yugam, Thretha-yugam, Duvapara-yugam and Kali-yugam. The Kritha-yugam have 17,28,000 years, Thretha-yugam have 12,96,000 years Duvapara-yugam have 8,64,000 years. All the people who have lived in Duvapara-yugam are praised as god. Because they feared and followed good deed than death. They are also found in Ramayana and Mahabharatha.
Now, let us see how the Kali-yugam started. It will take 4,32,000 years to get over.
Let us hear the story of what happened at the last moment of the Duvapara-yugam:
In a village, there lived a poor man. Due to poverty, he was in the situation to sell his land. So, he found a farmer and sold it. The farmer who brought it thought of tilling the land for agriculture. During tilling process, he found the treasure buried in the land. Immediately, the farmer took the treasure to the person who sold the land to him, to return it to him. Farmer said, "This treasure belongs to you. I brought only your land, not the treasure that you grandfather buried for you" and returned the treasure. But the poor man said i sold you the land and whatever is in it belongs to you. Take away this treasure and go to your home. Due the contradiction there was argument between those two. They came to the conclusion that there wont be a solution by arguing.There is a saint nearby a mountain and a song sung buy him is still in my heart. Hear it:

Super, let us go to the saint who sung this poem for our solution the other said. They reached the mountain and explained their problem clearly to the saint. Saint with his visions replied, the kali-yugam is going to start within few hours. So, leave the treasure here and come later.
After they left the saint. The saint was going out to take a holy dip in the nearby river, he thought that this treasure is a dangerous killer.
There was three thieves on the way who saw this treasure and was jumping with joy. The head of the thief group said to another that if we take this treasure now we would get caught to the villagers. So, let us take it tonight and he sent the third thief to bring us some food. so, that we protect the treasure till then.
The third thief was thinking on his way back to his house. If there was three to share a single treasure, i would get only a little amount. So, he adds poison to the food that he prepared for the other two thieves and on his way back to the mountains. In the meantime, the other two thieves are planning to kill the third thief by sending him back to bring some water. We can get more treasure. As the third thief returns to the place, both thieves who are protecting the treasure, sent the third one to get some water. On his way, they killed him. Then the both thieves eat the food and dies without knowing that the food is poisoned.
The saint finished his bath and came back to his place and was shocked to find that within few minutes this kali-yugam has started, has taken 3 life and worried. Then, the saint went to his house. In the meantime, the kali-yugam has changed the mind of the farmer and the poor man who sold his land. Both of them thought of controlling any situation that may arise. So, both made a knife and kept secretly behind their back concealed. They both went to see the treasure. They met each other in-front of the treasure and the argument again began but was upside down.
The poor man said this treasure was mine as i sold you only the land, not the treasure. The farmer said this treasure was mine as i brought the land. As the argument grows their hands started to involve in the argument. As their emotion became even more intense they took the knife and stabbed each other to death. The saint came out from his house hearing weired sound and found that this treasure within few hours had taken 5 life. If it is out anymore it is even more dangerous. So, the saint buried the treasure immediately.
This is not a surprise. Here after, as the kali-yugam comes to an end all the religious fights disappear, sudden earthquakes will not be a surprise, Tsunamis and sea level will rise. Both summer and winter will be unbearable. Rainfall will flood the city. Mosquitoes that bites only for 2 months in a year will bite for the full 12 months a year. Even the electric fan will not stop it from biting us. To that level of strength the mosquitoes will increase its strength. Dogs that reproduce only in the months between Sept-Oct will reproduce round the year. Also humans will limitlessly procreate. In Kali-yugam, one egg will hatch two chicks, one cow will give birth to four calf, one woman give birth to 5 or 6 babies. This was said by Korakkar siddhar.
