One undeniable reason to Fast


We are eating different food products under which comes a caffeine (drugs) added drink and other fried products. Because of these products our health deteriorates. Are there ways to stop this?

Due to the varied chemically processed food that are taken in unlimited quantities our bodies gets many technical difficulties. If one takes limited amount of food, he lives healthy. Our ancestors had followed many ways to maintain good body health. Let me explain how phenomenal amounts of food go through our mouth through simple mathematics.

A normal person eats an average of 1 Kg of food a day. That consists of:

Boiled rice                 - 1/4 Kg

Green leaves and vegetables - 1/4 Kg

Tea, coffee and snacks      - 1/4 Kg

Other food products         - 1/4 Kg

Total                       - 1 Kg

Food needed for a month (30 x 1) = 30 Kg


Food needed for a year (365days) = 365 Kg


food needed for 60 years         = 60 x 365
                                 = 21,900 Kg

Convert Kg to tonne              = 21.9 tonne


A person eats approximately 21.9 tonne of food for about a period of 60 years.

For example, take a grinding machine and think, How long does it take to grind 21.9 tonne of food to a fine powder? Doing the same, the amount of wear and tear the grinding machine would go through would be astronomical. So, to repair the machine and to bring it back to its original capacity, how much time do we have to remove the blunt cutting blades, sharpen it and fix it back? Even the machine made out of strong steel takes this much work.

Now take the delicate inner organ stomach which digest the food we intake. Even, if we pinch the skin of the stomach would get severely wounded. Think of digesting 21.9 tonnes of food by this delicate stomach. For a moment think. Yes, we are really overloading our stomach. Don’t we take rest if we worked hard? Similarly, it is our duty to give stomach rest.

How to give the organ rest when it is working 24/7? Our ancestor came up with a beautiful method and that is called "Fasting". So, they choose best days to fast in a month. It is good for health if one fast for 1-2 days per month. On olden days people had high devotion to God. So, in the name of God, they fasted for 2-3 days month to show their devotion. This added double benefit. One is to improve body health and the other is to improve mental health.

So, fasting for 2-3 days a month will give the much needed rest to the overloaded stomach and other related organs. Research as shown that one day of fasting will increase one's lifespan from 48 to 60 days. So, if simply said "do fasting", no one would have done it. So, only devotion to God through fasting came as an addition to make it possible for people to follow. Even more,

"Eating 4 times will destroy him
 Eating 3 times will die of disease
 Eating 2 times will be yogi
 Eating 1 time will be enlightened
 not eating at all makes one’s body attain disease-free and age-free"
