In korakkar siddhar's "chadhira-raegai" book he has specified to do breathing exercises looking towards north direction and without moving hands or legs we have to change our breath from sun side to moon side. But, how to do it without moving hands . Is there a way to do it?
Yes, There is no more intelligence than this method. The secret that is been hidden by many, I am going to spell it out. There are uncountable secrets that god has buried in our body. I will tell how to do it.

In breathing exercises we call breathing in as "Inhaling(purakam)", keeping the breath inside for a while is "holding(kumbagam)", breathing out as "Exhaling(raesagam)". Left side is moon-side. Air coming from the moon-side(left) will be cool. Right side is Sun-side. Air coming from the sun-side(right) will be warm. If the conditions of the air flow in the nostrils are opposite than it would give rise to many bad symptoms in our body. See that god has kept a lot of subtle things in our breath.
You can tell whether a person die or not just from tracking just his breath. If a persons breath flows in the sun-side for three days continuously then he will surely die within a year. If air flows through a single side for 10 days continuously, then the person dies within 3 months. Moon-side air flows for 16 inches. Sun-side air flows for 8 inches. While doing breathing exercises, we have to breath in 12 inches, hold it for 8 inches and breath out for 4 inches. If a persons breath flows in the above mentioned way , he will live for 120 years. If the medicines are taken when breath is in sun-side, the curing power of the medicine will increase tremendously and the disease will be cured fast. But, if we take medicines on the moon-side, curing power is reduced and the diseases won't get cured that fast. One can go to newly brought or built house, wear new clothes, dig a well on the moon-side flow.
Anything that is done while the breath flows in the sun-side will lead to increase probability of victory. Due to this fact, siddhar's rishis would carry pot and hand stick in the left hand. They will keep the meditation stick in the left hand and firmly hold it in their ankle. This will make the breath flow through the sun-side.
Therefore, if we keep some objects in the left ankle we get victory in the things we do. While sitting also if we are sitting with right hand as support on the ground, then breath flows through left nostril. This is depicted in Siva temples in the Nandi statue. This is the reason why the Nandhi sits with right hand as support. Then his breath flows left i.e on the sun-side and whatever we wish to him, it gets fulfilled.
For example, let us take a day in which the breath flows sun-side. On Saturday early morning at 3.58 am the breath flows on moon-side. Exactly at 4am in the morning it changes to sun-side. For that we have to keep left hand under our head and sleep. This changes the breath to sun-side. But whatever we do the breath doesn't changes to sun-side. If we force the breath on other side by closing the respective nostril, then we cant breath.
If a persons breath runs in sun-side at Saturday morning 4am, then he is a great self-realised person. But, if a normal man even if he tries to change the side, it wont change. You will be aware of it not in a year, not in a month, but in a day. If you sleep by keeping right hand under your head, breath flows sun-side. If you sleep by keeping left hand under your head, breath flows through the moon-side. But, the only exception is on Saturday morning 4am. The reason behind it is, morning 4am is the start of what we call "Brahma Mugurtham" and it last till 6am.At that time whatever we do the breath won't change. This is the reason why people do yoga or study from 4-6am. This is the time the human body and mind will work at the highest efficiency.
How to do breathing exercise without moving hand ?
It is possible if we pull our mouth to the left side like women's sigh on those they hate. The breath must flow through moon-side. But, it flows though both sun-side and moon-side. If we pull our mouth to the right side then there is flow only through the sun-side. Moon-side denotes women, sun-side denotes man. Woman has adjusting characteristics. But, men have stubborn characteristics. Also right side aperture is large compared to the left side. If you practise this for 3 years, you will get siddhi. If you practise it by using hand. Even if you do this for 10 or 20 years, you wont attain siddhi. The ratio of breathing exercise is the follow:
12 inhale -- 8 hold -- 4 exhale
Do this for 3 months and then increase the time to 24-20-8 counts. Another thing is to notice that one can inhale slowly or fast. But, exhaling must be done slowly. If you do this exercise daily, your life-time increases. At the beginning you will be uncomfortable doing it. But after practise you will fell good and personal magnetism increases within you. Within just 10 days of doing breathing exercise rightly you will feel someone pressing the small spot in-between your eyebrows. It is the pituitary gland and it gets activated to accelerate your spiritual journey.
Ways for chanting mantra

The numbers 12, 8, and 4 denotes counts you keep while you do the inhalation, holding and exhalation. And yeah, its the same hate sigh that women show but freezed at that position when inhaling and exhaling. I will try to add pictures if possible for clear visual understanding.
