When you see all of the history, the feminine aspect of the infinite has subtly made profound influences in great people lives. The deep connection with the Divine Mother is what has silently made them great and extraordinary. Take the life of Swami Vivekananda and his Kali; Ramakrishna, Paramahansa Yogananda and their Divine Mother; even the greatest Mathematician Ramanujam credited his mathematical genius to the visions from the Goddess Mahalakshmi. They all made revolutionary changes to the world at large because of this sacred connection.
Divine Mother aspect
The infinite cosmic power can be experienced as many forms, since we human beings give a shape and form to everything that is abstract. We give God the form of father, mother and child. Since, everything is at the highest absolute level one, all are equal and infinite. But, the different manifestations changes the temperance of the form we assume in our worship of God. The father aspect is more stern and judgemental. The mother aspect is more compassionate and loving. The child aspect is more playful and filled with joy. It is more easier to love God as the divine mother aspect, because we all have more love for our mother than anyone else in general. She quickly responds to the calls of her child and cares form the and helps them out.
Analytical vs Devotional
I am too intellectual, cause of my thinking. I think too analytical, trying to see the equations behind things, that i downgraded that devotion is not that useful. I have done research in the field of computational physics for my PhD and also worked in many Engineering design simulation and software development projects. You can see that i have over-trained myself from the analytical part. It was too difficult for me to develop the devotional aspect in my life.
As i was trying to develop my devotion for God. I started more seriously to search ways for it. I then saw people who have easily developed it is through chanting, self-surrender, selfless service to God and meditation. I was initially like very skeptical to do any of the above except meditation, which i regularly do for mental clarity and peace. But, as i tried it one by one, it made a lot of sense to me and helped me with the problem i had at had, that is to feel devotion for God.
Chanting
As i went first to Ananda Chennai (they teach yoga, meditation), singing to harmonium tune with 15-20 people was initially awkward for me. But as i chanted few kirtans before meditation, my meditations were a lot deeper than usual. I started developing a liking for chants and do it now on a regular basis. There are lot of free chants, kirtans online. You can check them if you like to try it. It raises our energy from base chakras to the throat chakra which is closer to the crown chakra. It makes the energy focused inward, that helps in deeper meditation. The music were also mild, soothing that uplifted the consiousness to higher levels. The easiest way to develop devotion for God is through chanting. As Yogananda said, "Chanting is half the battle". Chanting easily stirs our positive feelings to be more loving towards the Infinite.
Self-surrender and Selfless service to God
Putting Infinite first before everything is difficult. But it can be gradually developed by offering all our thoughts, emotions and actions to the Infinite, be it good or bad. The divine mother guides, inspires and works through us more as we offer ourselves more to her.
Responses from Divine Mother
I personally had lot of experiences from the Divine Mother in my life. I will share one of the incidents. One fine morning, I just asked Divine Mother, with all intensity and love "What do you want from me Divine Mother ?", Then suddenly there was a bell sound and as i went to look outside the window. I saw a little kid walking with a T-shirt with the words "Love" written on it. This happened, when where I stay was under lockdown due to Covid. All she wants from us is love, what else would the mother want from us more. We on the other hand had forgotten the truth and lost this beautiful connection and constantly in the pursuit of flashy things. She responds fastest to our cries. She cannot withstand us suffer.
The infinite as Divine Mother had taken care of us through many forms and things in our lives indirectly. It is time that we see the infinite behind the finite we experience in our normal lives and to be grateful for the divine presence in our lives.
