Lucid dreams are easier to have then you can imagine. It just takes some time to get the subtle knack for it and develop it into a full fledged experience. During the lock-down, since i was locked like many inside the house, it was difficult to travel to new places. Lucid dreams have helped a lot in this aspect. You can go anywhere in this world just by closing and opening your eyes. Lucid dreams can transform our lives, give new perspectives, solutions and intuitions to our problems at hand. You would have heard about the scientist who found the structure of the Benzene molecule in his dream, he had a dream of a snake biting its own tail. The benzene is like a hexagonal ring structure. I would like to share the things that i followed to get more lucid in dreams

Reading more about it
Reading about lucid dreaming before going to sleep actually induces lucid dreams. There are lot of books on this topic. I found the most useful was this one Lucid dreaming made easy by Charley Mortley. It has lot of vivid experiences of people from all walks of life. Lot of the useful techniques I share here was learned from this eBook. You can also read about it on the blogs and webpages and the experiences shared by other people. This makes our mind to actively seek for it during our sleep and helps inducing a lucid dream within week or so.
Keep a dream journal
This is easy to say, but keeping a physical dream journal is really annoying because there is no privacy in house. People peeks into your dream experiences. If you are alone in a room, you can just keep a diary and a pen under your pillow or nearby where you sleep. Just fill it every time you wake up. For those who wish to keep it more private, you can use your smartphones to type the dream as a message in the google docs (keep offline copy for privacy). You have lot of dreams everyday, but don't remember it because you don't record it. By keeping a dream journal, you exercise your mind to remember all of your dreams. On an average, i have about two - three dreams daily and the more you record it, the more you vividly remember it.
Do constant Reality Checks
Throughout the day do logical reality checks. Right now ask yourself, what lead you to this place? what was the previous activity you were doing. If you can find logical sequence of reverse walk-through in your day-to-day life, in reality it will be consistent. But, when things are not consistent, you will become aware that you are in your dream. So for example, if i just ask, what was i doing before typing this article. I would find that i was eating breakfast. So, if i couldn't find the answer, i am in a dream, because things are not continuous in dreams.
Another easiest way is to look at your hands, look away from your hands and then look back at your hands. If they are the same, you are in reality, if it changes you are in a dream. The same thing works with digital watches, the digital time changes weirdly in dream Pick one habit and practice it consistently throughout your day. So, it becomes a habit, and you would practice it in the dream without your knowing and will become aware of your dream and be lucid. It is like the totem.
Repeat Affirmations before sleep
Affirmations are very powerful and have a profound effect on our subconscious minds. When you can repeat this affirmation "You will remember your dreams and become more conscious that you are dreaming". If you repeat it lot of times as you fall asleep, you will to your surprise find that you become more lucid and conscious in your dreams.
Keeping an Alarm Schedule
Now, setting alarm is very crucial because you have to wake up after a sleep cycle of 1hr 30 mins, other wise you feel groggy. So, you keep a normal alarm after 4.30 or 6 hours. Then, keep a countdown timer for 30-45 mins. When the alarm wakes you up, you immediately record your dream and go back to sleep. You can induce multiple lucid dreams this way. Since, you can immediately go into dream when you get up and go back to sleep. You can iterate many times and find what is optimal for you.
Finally
It just took a 3-4 days for me to have my first lucid dream after following this techniques. It is very easy to have lucid dreams. It is not taught in formal places. But, its usefulness and power is yet to be utilized by the general public. I would like to share some of my lucid dreams. Initially, things were just crazy like i was running in lightning-speed like flash, visiting exotic places in the world. Then, it becomes more of intuitive search for meaningfulness and creative inspirations. I hope you too have a lucid dream tonight ! Please share your experiences and thoughts in the comments section
